Are you looking for more emerging artists to add to your playlist? Meet Laundry Day.

The New York City band made its way to Dinkytown’s Varsity Theater on Wednesday as one of the two opening acts for veteran pop band Neon Trees — and they ruled the stage.

The band played songs such as “Y.K.Y.N.U.N.Y” (You Know You Need Unique New York) and “We All Gotta Find a Reason” from its newest album Younger Than I Was Before. The album introduced long-time Laundry Day fans to a new era of style and music, invoking feelings of nostalgia with each song and album skit.

The performance also included a couple hits such as “Jane” and “Harvard” from their past albums — all to prime the crowd for the main event, Neon Trees.

The band features Jude Cuilla-Lipkin and Sawyer Nunes on vocals, Henry Weingartner on guitar, Henry Pearl on bass and Etai Abramovich on the drums. As they do at all of their live shows, the members hung around outside of the theater afterward to catch up with their fans.

“[It’s] my favorite part of every show,” Abramovich said on social media.

As they continue to tour with Neon Trees and play pop-up shows around the country, Laundry Day will embrace each crowd with their New York City charm. Their next stop is Salt Lake City, Utah.
