From crocheting to climbing, we help you find inner peace through your passions

about us

At the Mindful Hobbyist, our work is as varied as our staff. With different mindsets and practices, each one of our writers has nothing but novel and thoughtful material to offer, helping to broaden our readers’ horizons, perspectives and pursuits.

Quinn McClurg

Greetings and salutations! My name is Quinn McClurg and I’m a writer here at the Mindful Hobbyist. I’m passionate about writing poetry, supporting local music and practicing photography and philosophy. I’m most curious about how what we read, write and do shapes what we are, and how this content can be a catalyst for personal growth.

You can find more of my work with a focus on photography of artist’s spaces on Instagram at @mindful.hobbyist.workspaces. Here, I post pictures of the work- and living-spaces of local artists and briefly describe what their pursuits mean to them.

MAYA MODELLI

Hello! My name is Maya Modelli and I am a writer at the Mindful Hobbyist. I am an interdisciplinary artist primarily practicing photography, crochet, and ceramics but I still love learning new skills! I am interested in the role of art as a means of coping, and the social responsibility of the artist in society. I love learning about people and the things they make!

emma Morris

Howdy! My name is Emma Morris and I am a writer for TMH. I am a rock climber, fitness freak, and overall lover of hobbies. I am always down to try something new and bring inclusivity to my passions. I want to find the interconnectedness between movement and mind.
